We’re siblings born and raised in beautiful Costa Rica, but our story blends both Costa Rican roots and American influence. From a young age, we attended American schools, which gave us a deep connection to U.S. culture, it's people and helped us understand the values, mindset, and lifestyle many Americans are looking for — even before they know they’re looking for it.
As kids and throughout our lives, we’ve explored nearly every beach, volcano, and national park in Costa Rica. Whether it was hiking in Monteverde, surfing in Santa Teresa, or watching the sunset in Nosara, we’ve experienced the very best of this country — and we’ve never stopped appreciating how special it is to call this place home.
Over the years, we’ve seen more and more Americans drawn to the peaceful, nature-connected lifestyle Costa Rica offers. But we’ve also seen how complicated the process of relocating can feel — from residency paperwork and finding the right home to understanding healthcare or schools.
That’s why we created Pura Vida Living — to make moving to Costa Rica feel simple, safe, and exciting. JULIAN ALVAREZ
He brings the spark and energy that balances our team. A beach lover and adrenaline enthusiast, he’s happiest when he's riding ATVs through the jungle, out on the water, or discovering hidden surf spots along the coast. Beyond his love for adventure, he studied architecture and design, which gives him a creative eye for spaces, style, and structure — a skill that adds serious value when helping clients find their dream homes or investment properties.
He also runs a social media company with American partners, which keeps him deeply connected to U.S. trends, expectations, and business culture. His experience navigating international partnerships gives him a unique edge in helping American expats adjust, communicate, and thrive here in Costa Rica.

As a civil engineer born and raised in Costa Rica, she has always loved structure — but what truly fuels her is nature and adventure. She has hiked nearly every mountain in the country, chased countless waterfalls, and walked the trails less traveled. Her deep connection to the land goes beyond admiration — She knows it, she has lived it, and loves helping others experience it the right way.
Beyond nature, she is also a gastronomy enthusiast who has spent years discovering the best food spots in Costa Rica — from hidden local gems to high-end culinary experiences. She brings a unique balance of precision and passion, helping our clients not just move, but settle into a lifestyle that’s rich, connected, and aligned with their values.
